Manaslu Circuit Trek is a complete journey around Mt. Manaslu, the eighth tallest mountain on earth. It is one of the longest and difficult treks in Nepal that offers stunning mountain views of Manasiri, Annapurna, Ganesh, Baudha and Shringi Himal ranges.

Manaslu Circuit Trek starts at Arughat in Gorkha district and follows Buri Gandaki River. The trail passes through peaceful villages, Buddhist monasteries, farmed terraces, roaring waterfalls and lakes. In fact much of the initial trail is through Manaslu Conservation Area which hosts a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Pine, oaks and rhododendrons are the dominant forest species in the lower elevation. Snow Leopard, Musk Deer and Himalayan Black Bear are some of the endangered species found in this region

All along the trek you will be greeted with magnificent views of Ganesh Himal (7163m), Baudha Himal (6672m), Himal Chuli (7893m), Pabil (7110m), Yangra (7429m), Langpo (6480m), Shringi Himal (7187m), Lapuchun (5960m), and Saula Himal (6235m). The majority of inhabitants here belong to Nupri and Bhotia people whose culture and lifestyles is akin to their Tibetan cousins. You can also visit ancient Buddhist monasteries such as Shringi, Samdo, Mu and Rachen that give you window into the practice of Buddhist religion.

The highest point of the trek is when crossing the Larkya La pass at 5213m. Larkya La pass is at a vantage point to capture the spectacular glimpses Manaslu, Mansiri Himal (7059m), Annapurna II, Larkya peak (6219m), Naike Peak (5515m), Manaslu North (7157m), and Phungi (6396m).After the Larkya La, the trail descends down to Bagarchap via Bhimthan into Annapurna valley. The views of Annapurna ranges, particularly Annapurna II and IV are added bonus. There are many tea houses along the trek so new camping equipment is required any more. However, special permits need to be obtained from the government for Manaslu Circuit Trek.
