Gosaikunda Trekking involves crossing of one of the highest Himalaya passes: Ganja La pass at an altitude of 5100m. The trek falls in the popular Langtang region close to Tibetan border and offers spectacular Langtang and Ganesh Himal views as well as unique Buddhist culture of Tamang-Tibetan community. Ganja-La Pass trek follows the traditional route from Syabrubesi and passes by Lama Hotel and Mundu. You will visit the Langtang Village that was completely destroyed by the 2015 earthquake and is still recovering. The trekking trail has been repaired and few hotels have been renovated and opened for tourism once again.
Kyangjing Gompa is one of the major attraction of this route which offers splendid views of Langtang Lirung, Kyanjin Ri and Kinshung peaks. You can visit the nearby cheese factory and walk up a bit to explore Langtang glaciers. Crossing Ganga La is a challenge in itself so enough acclimatization is required before take on the pass. Nevertheless at the end you will be rewarded with magnificent views of Langtang peaks.
Since the trekking trail falls within Langtang National Park, you will be walking through dense forests of rhododendron, hemlock and pine trees. On the way down you will pass through scenic villages of Tarkeghyang, Keldang, Dukpu and Shermathang surrounded by terraced farms and green hills.
