This trip is specially design for those who love Buddhist Culture. Lumbini associated with the birth of Lord Buddha is of extreme archeological importance and also a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site. It is said that Prince Siddhartha Gautam, who later became Buddha the Enlightened One, was born in the gardens of Nepal's Lumbini in 623 B.C. The main shrines of Lumbini are the newly restored Mayadevi Temple, the Ashokan Pillar behind the temple and the Lake Shakya Puskarini where Mayadevi is said to have bathed before delivering the little Buddha into the world. Besides these, there are others like the Nepal Buddha Temple and the Dharmaswami Buddhist monastery. Other countries like Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, etc are also contributing to build more temples and monasteries. Lumbini also has a museum and a research center for Buddhism.
Day 02 : After breakfast, Drive to Namoboudha(45 Kms).
Buddhists call it "Tagmologin", the famous Buddhist spot, where Lord Buddha (on 7th re-incarnation) sacrificed his body to hungry Tigress and its cubs. O/N Monastery.
Day 03 : Trek to Balthali Villae resort.
A beautiful trek to Balthali. Lies one of the rich cultural and natural destination of Balthali, where upon sits on top of a hill – Balthali Village Resort – a small, cozy retreat with bird’s eye view of green terrace fields doted with ochre painted houses and faint hue of Himalayan peaks in the north horizon. It offers a sunrise in the east, speculating Himalayan range of Manaslu, Langtang & Everest in the north, innumerable rice terraces in the west & huge bodied green forest of Mahabharat range in the South. One of the most important factors of this sport is that it is warm in the winter & cool in the summer. The area of Balthali is cover of various flora, colorful rhododendron forest, magnolia & sal trees.
Day 04 : Kathmandu to visit Pharping Monastery
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu to visit Pharping Monastery. The Buddhist history says, Milerapa from Tibet took one night shelter in the cave, and accordingly blessed this monastery. Hindus have their version that it was Pancha Pandav who had visited this place. Vegetarian lunch will be served. Evening visit Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), the oldes Buddhist Stupa in Nepal. O/N Hotel.
Day 05 : Fly/ drive to Bhairahawa and a short drive to Lumbini. PM tour of the Sacred Garden. O/N at Hotel
Day 06: Lumbini Sightseeing.
Excursion to Tilaurakot (25kms) to the west, the ancient capital of Kapilvastu, the Kingdom of the Sakya Dynasty in which Lord Buddha was born. PM tour of Monastery Zone and the Lumbini Village. O/N at Hotel.
Day 07: Back to Kathmandu,
