Baruntse Expedition (7129m): The trekking to the base camp of Mt. Barun Tse offers a unique diversity of nature; vegetations, animals, panoramas of landscape and people. The climate varies from the tropical to alpine. Being one of the wettest areas of Nepal, it is covered with varied forest of Rhododendron and orchids (you can observe more than 25 species of Rhododendrons and 47 types of orchids). As you pave the way higher up, the vegetation changes into grassy slopes and then into alpine terrain. The trail exceedingly offers an amazing panoramas of mountain peaks including the Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Amadablam and other smaller snow capped peaks. There are various sites of Base Camps used by different expedition teams for Mt. Makalu, Barun Tse and other mountain peaks. The trail includes 2 passes crossing. The crossing is not technically difficult but should be quick to recognize the avalanche-hazard. To start trek, you'd better fly to Tumlingtar from Kathmandu, or otherwise, you can drive up to Hile-Pakhribas, which requires 4 more days to reach Tumlingtar.
