Despite being one of the most visited trekking areas of Nepal the Annapurna Region still has many exciting and adventurous new routes to offer, one of which we propose to you today. In 2003 the Nepalese government opened the monsoon free Tibetan border area of Nar and Phu to the outside world. So far only very few visitors have traveled to this remote area in the north of the Manang district. High Mountain passes, beautiful lakes and thundering waterfalls surrounded by picturesque villages with a Buddhist population and numerous ancient monasteries are the main characteristics of this beautiful region. From 15 may 2007 to 15 th August 2007 we invite our friends and customers to join us for this new and unique trek behind the Annapurna , which provides you with an opportunity to discover its hidden secrets?
The following highlights will make this trek an unforgettable experience for all participants:
1. Extensive visits of the Tibetan style villages of Phu at an altitude of 4200m and Nar at 4300m
2. A typical diner with the lamas at the ancient and historical Tashi Lakhang Monestary, the 109 th monastery builds over 400 years ago by the legendary Lama Tashi Lakhang
3. The crossing of the high altitude passes of Kang La 5306m and Mesokanto La 5360m
4. A relaxing day in the district capital of Manang, enjoying the exceptional mountain panorama of the district capital
5. An unforgettable camping night on the shore of one of the highest lakes of the world 'Tilicho Tal" at 4917m.
6. Due to the lack of tourist facilities for the larger part of the journey we organize this trek as a full trekking expedition with all the adequate infrastructure (double tents, kitchen and dining tents and all the necessary staff).
We are looking forward to hearing from you and please fell free to get in touch with us for any additional information regarding our other trekking proposals and Nepal tour programs.
